“JK Dobbins will not return for the remainder of Monday night’s game against his former team.

The Los Angeles Chargers running back has been ruled out for the rest of the matchup with the Baltimore Ravens due to a knee injury, as confirmed by the team on 

social media. Dobbins, who played his first four seasons with Baltimore before joining the Chargers on a one-year contract this offseason, had a strong first half, rushing for 40 yards on six carries.”

The former second-round pick from the 2020 NFL Draft is having a standout season, accumulating 766 rushing yards and eight touchdowns through 11 games. He’s on track to set career highs in both rushing yards and touchdowns, and is just five yards away from matching his personal best in receiving yards.

However, Dobbins’ early career has been plagued by injuries. After a promising rookie season in 2020, he suffered a season-ending knee injury prior to the 2021 season and only played eight games in 2022 due to ongoing knee issues. Last year, he tore his Achilles in the Ravens’ season opener and missed the entire season.

When healthy, Dobbins has demonstrated his potential, and he’ll be hoping that Monday’s injury won’t hinder his progress long-term.

Entering Monday’s game with a 7-3 record, the Chargers are currently in fifth place in the AFC standings, second in the AFC West, trailing only the Kansas City Chiefs.
